Lost and Found

People say the grass is greener on the other side, but you never really know where the other side exactly is until you realize that wherever you currently are is not where you want to be.

I found myself longing for the other side when I felt that my (previous) work was not enough. I was helping others become better versions of themselves, but I felt that a direct impact on society was something I could not immediately achieve. I wanted to enable people, but I also wanted these people to build things that could, as cliché as it sounds, really make a difference. I also wanted to help these people better, but I felt that my knowledge and my experience was limited. These wants could not be satisfied by my work then, so I wandered for a while, looking for the other side.

I stumbled upon what I thought was only a small patch of green when I met Andre. I understood the impact of what he wanted to achieve and I thought that maybe, just maybe, I could enable him, a founder. However, tables turned slowly as we worked together. At first, I thought I only helped him by doing what he could not, but looking back at the last four months we’ve been working together, I realized that he was the one enabling me. He hired me and gave me an opportunity to learn new things – in other words, he found me.

So what’s it like working with a Founder? It is seeing passion in action. It is applying Magis to everyday tasks. It is being found for a greater calling. It is being found for your wealth of talent and potential.

Working in Ignite Founders, I think I’d like to make the grass greener here for everyone else because I, too, want to find others.
